Why Change Coaches?

Change Coaches was created by LaTonya Wilkins, who never felt she “fit in at work.” As a leadership development executive, she also felt organizations could do better with developing talent. The approaches were outdated, ineffective, and didn’t acknowledge the increasing diversity and evolution of the current workplace. Repeated experiences around this sentiment motivated LaTonya to become an executive coach and start Change Coaches.

About LaTonya

LaTonya began her journey by attempting to make changes from within traditional organizations. However, she soon discovered the transformative potential of leadership and team coaching. This unconventional yet evidence-informed approach was a breath of fresh air compared to traditional programs that weren’t preparing executives for the future workplace. Since starting Change Coaches in 2020, LaTonya has grown the organization, which now partners with CXOs, senior leaders, and organizations around the world. Her best-selling book Leading Below the Surface: How to Build Real (and Psychologically Safe) Relationships with People who are Different from You has earned a spot on many “best of” book lists and has been read by universities, organizations, and individuals around the world.

Our Approach

Change Coaches is a team of leadership development professionals who apply Below the Surface Leadership™️ concepts to today’s workplace. Our team believes in preparing leaders to lead in today’s complex environment, which involves more generations than ever, navigating stressful world events, historic levels of burnout, and heightened uncertainty. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter approaches, and our method goes far beyond the traditional 90-minute workshops. We form genuine connections and pick up insights that other coaches might miss. Our approach ensures that, while tackling large-scale organizational challenges, we also foster significant individual and team growth.
